Snow White

*This is an Analysis of Snow White and its Literature Mode

The movie Snow White is a very romantic piece.  It starts with a conflict (hint hint) of her stepmother, the Queen, asking her mirror this question:  "Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?"  The mirror replies that Snow White is the fairest, instead of her, which causes her to become very jealous.  So a hunter comes to kill her, but cannot do it because she is too beautiful, and sends her into the woods to hide.  There, she immediatly befriends all the woodland animals and the dwarfs that live there, who invite her to stay at her house and keep her safe from her evil stepmother.  The Queen tries to kill her again with a poison apple, and succeeds, but when trying to escape from the vengeful seven dwarfs, a boulder falls on top of her, and she dies. Of course, her true love, who has been looking far and wide for her, comes and saves the day with true loves kiss, (love conquers all evil) and they run off and get married.  (Ends in marriage, birth, ect.)  Some other things that make this movie romantic is that Snow White is a sweet, innocent, young princess who can do no wrong, and the movie is very unrealistic.  Examples of this are when Snow immediatly befriends the animals and lets them snuggle up to her, when in real life, most woodland creatures are fiercely protective of themselves and their young, possibly rabid, and don't smell very pleasant, how the seven dwarfs are singing in the mines, having a great time, when in reality mining is one of the most dangerous and dirty jobs ever, and the Queen preforming  magic spells to turn herself into an old lady and an apple to poison.

  1. I agree. You can totally tell that it's romance because of all the symbolism in it.

  2. I agree with you. Most of the stuff that happens in this movie could never happen in real life. I think from the transition to the mirror to the hunter you should say it's Snow white who he tried to kill because I was confused if you were talking about the queen or snow white.

  3. Same here I agree, because there is magic and there is a lot of romanticizing in Snow White. Everything that is good conquers evil.

  4. It is always a good idea to use an older movie/book/TV show. You show an understanding of the plot line and this movie. I agree that it is romance because, as you said, the princess can do no wrong. Everyone is there just to protect her, except the evil witch, of course. Also, it is very unrealistic, once again, like you said.
